I was really alarmed on reading a news item wherein our Army resorting to Gandhian way of non-violence by forming a human chain to prevent the intrusions of Chinese Army crossing over the international border.   The news run thus:   “ Up in the Sikkim Himalayas, the Indian Army is engaged in a strange Gandhian tussle with Chinese Army along the international border. Troops are forming human chains to stop the numerous intrusions by the Chinese forces from across the border.   “We are literally forming human chains to stop the Chinese from crossing over,” explains a senior officer. “If they come in groups of 20, we may assemble 50 men. We hold hand in hand and form this chain.   Between 2020 and 2023, the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly passed 13 bills, many concerning university governance reforms, notably transferring the power to appoint Vice-Chancellors from the Governor to the state government. Governor Ravi withheld assent to 10 of  these bills without providing reasons or returning them for reconsideration, leading to significant legislative gridlock. In response, the Tamil Nadu government filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court in October 2023, challenging the Governor's inaction as unconstitutional under Article 200 of the Constitution. Some of these 10 bills were withheld by the Governor or reserved for the President under Article 200 of the Constitution. On April 8, 2025, a bench comprising Justices J.B. Pardiwala and R. Lord Jagannatha is worshipped primarily in city of Puri at famous Jagannatha temple. Lord Jagannatha is considered a form of Lord Vishnu and also revered by the followers of Vaishnavism. Jagannatha literally means Lord of the Universe. Jagannatha temple is one of the four Hindu pilgrimage centers known as Char Dham pilgrimages that a Hindu is expected to make in one's lifetime.
