q Election of Congress President in 1946 was crucial, as the one elected would be the First Prime Minister of India. At that election Patel got all votes, while Nehru got nil – but as Nehru was not prepared to be Deputy PM under Patel, Gandhiji had persuaded Patel to be a second in command in the India’s first cabinet. Nehru had laid the foundation for Nehru Dynastic Politics in the Congress even at the very start getting Zero vote and getting defeated, but occupied President and PM posts. q Indra Gandhi had started her own party – Congress (R) by splitting Congress National Party and the breakaway group led by Congress Senior Leaders like K.Kamaraj , Morarji Desai etc. were called as Congress (O) – jocularly called as Syndicate. In 1971 election after the split, Indra had secured absolute majority.
