Varalakshmi means – Lakhmi bestowing boons to those who worship Her. It is a special viratam for all Hindu Married women for long married life and to other unmarried girls to get good husbands and long life. As per the Hindu Scriptures it is believed that worshipping Goddess Lakshmi on this auspicious day is equal to offering prayers to Ashtalakshmi , who is the eight Goddesses of Love, Wealth, Strength, Peace, Fame, Pleasure, Earth and Learning. Idol of Lakshmi’s Face will be installed at the house and pooja will be performed with devout mind and then mangalya saradu will be tied by her husband around her neck with three knots symbolizing the blessings of Lakshmi for a long married life.
