Maharashtra State Assembly Election 2019: The BJP – Shiv Sena alliance won 161 seats in total which is 16 seats more than the half-way mark of 145 seats to form the government. BJP won 105 Seats and Shiv Sena 56 seats in the recently held Maharashtra Assembly Eletion 2019. In 2014 Assembly election the position was BJP 122 seats whereas Shiv Sena 62 seats totaling 184 seats. Hence the fall of seats was 23 seats. One should note that in 2014 BJP and Sena fought each other and forged alliance only after the election results, whereas there was pre-poll alliance in this election of 2019.
