UPA 2 in Dilemma

UPA 2 Mummed and Maimed by MM –meaning Mulayam and Mayavathi with the third M – meaning Mamata waiting to bat according to her whims and fancies and her political expediency which she likes to call it as acumen.

And 4th M – viz. M. Karunanidhi pulling out from the UPA 2 government – but prudent enough to declare that ‘outside support to the government cannot be ruled out’ is struggling hard ‘how to handle the Sri Lankan issue in view of the students taking up the issues to the streets and Amma extending support by her positive steps by passing resolutions in the assembly even to the extent of advising central government to severe our diplomatic connections and to order polls for the Eelam Tamil State.

Common Man is perplexed, puzzled and pondering over his fate – perhaps waiting to teach a lesson or two to these unprincipled parties whose aim is to be in power and to serve themselves – their kith and kin.

Common Man should use his common sense at the time of casting his vote.  Time has come to weigh the individual’s moral bearings rather than his knowledge or skill or his political leanings.  Honest y and Love of the country are to be given priority over any other characteristics of the candidate.
In one of the Tamil Magazines, the performance of UPA 2 has been analyzed succinctly  as under:

Nature has provided us 5 Natural Elements such as Air, Water, Fire, Land and Space. The present UPA 2 government had polluted all these natural elements by scams as under:

Air –          2 G spectrum Scam
Water  -    Submarines’ Scam
Land -       Farmers’ Loan Waiver Scam
Fire –        Coal Mining Scam
Space –     Helicopter Scam

Apart from these Scams of Himalayan height,  UPA 2 had miserably failed in the home Front  and External Front and India is looked down upon in the world arena.

Election Commission which is said to be autonomous should wake up to the aspirations of the people in preventing candidates with criminal background from contesting and to curb the money power during elections.

There should be only one election for the Parliament once in 5 years with no bye elections in between – i.e. that seat should be kept vacant through the period. If the parliament is dissolved and no party is in a position to form the government, the President should rule the country in the remaining period – consulting the political parties – more on the principle of consensus rather than confrontation.

In case of major policy decision, the President can go in for public referendum to decide the best course of action, as the Public as the voter is supreme in a democratic set up.
Even the Presidential form of governance can also be tried, if the Indian public feel that better equity, freedom, safety and justice can be ensured in such an environment.

Out of the box thinking is not taboo in politics.

Let us think about the Needs of all – without giving room for Greedy politicians to take charge of the governance in future.
