Some Insights about Raghul Gandhi
Raghul Gandhi’s personal life may not be a
concern for Indians, if he is an ordinary citizen. But, he was unofficially
declared as the Prime Ministerial candidate and he is presently Vice-President
of Grand Old Party - Indian National Congress. It is also a fact that even the
President of the Congress Party is with Sonia Gandhi who is the mother of Raghul
Gandhi. Nobody had dared to question why both the posts should be held by
Mother-Son duo in spite of the great drubbing in the recently held Lok
Sabha election - getting all time low seats of 44 - even not eligible to get
the status of Leader of Opposition Party. Hence an insight of Raghul’s love
affairs, his qualifications, his professions, etc. gain relevance and importance.
Raghul himself had said: "My girlfriend's
name is Veronique not Juanita. She is Spanish and not Venezuelan or Colombian.
She is an architect not a waitress, though I wouldn't have had a problem with that."
Veronique Cartelli, who studied in the same university as
him in England in the 1990s, became very close to him - but, it is a million
dollar question whether she will become his wife. Rahul was seen in the company
of Veronica, an architect, Spanish by birth but who grew up in Venezuela, since
2004. They were spotted together at cricket matches and holiday spots in
Kerala. She was rumoured to have been asked to bow out to avoid another
controversy over a foreign wife coming into the Nehru-Gandhi family.
Raghul was also spotted in the company of
another girl - Noella, an
Afghan princess and jewellery designer, whose mother is an Italian. She is also
the granddaughter of former Afghanistan King, late Mohammad Zahir
Shah. They were also seen together in France. She is said to have taken up
Roman Catholic religion and informed sources said that the Rahul and she often
pray together in the home chapel of his mother Sonia's residence.
There
is
one more report about his keeping company with a lady - daughter of a deceased
head of government of an Asian country, married to a Swiss national and having
a young son. They were reported to have met in Delhi and later met frequently
in Dubai.
In any
case, he recently told PTI that he will only marry when he finds “the right
girl,” seemingly meaning that neither Veronique nor Noella or
any other acquaintances fit
the bill.
“This
is a question that comes up all the time. Right now, I am engaged in fighting
the [Lok
Sabha] elections. Unfortunately, I have not been focused on private life,” he
said.
“Is
it two years from now, one year from now?” he was asked.
“When
I find the right girl,” replied the 43-year-old Congress vice-president.
“That
means you have not found the right girl?”
“When
I find the right girl, I will get married.”
The above
interview of Raghul
reveals a sad state of his mind and his playboy attitudes which will not augur
well with the Indian psyche. Immediately after the Lok
Sabha election, it seems he had travelled surreptitiously to America and the
name in his passport seems to be Raul Vinci and not Raghul
Gandhi - which may help to hide his identity from the public eyes.
Educational
Qualification:
After finishing school education, Rahul Gandhi
got admission at the St. Stephens College in New Delhi, not on merit basis but
on sports quota of rifle shooting. After a brief stay there in 1989-90, he did
his BA from Rollins College, Florida in 1994. Just for doing BA one need not go
to the US. The very next year, in 1995 he got M.Phil in Development Economics from Trinity
College, Cambridge.
His Profession:
First Raghul had declared his profession as ‘Farmer’
in 2004 and then in 2009, he changed his profession to ‘Strategy Consultant’. These
were the information furnished by Raghul in his affidavits which were mandatory to
be filed while contesting elections.
From consultancy, Raghul had
gone into entrepreneurship by setting up a firm called Bakops by
having 83% ownership leaving the rest to 3 of his friends - Anil Thakur, Ranvir
Sinha and Manoj Muttu. After
the
formation of UPA 1 in the 2004 election, the firm was flooded with orders and
the Mumbai based Mid-Day news
paper carried some
sensational claims about the little known Raghul-owned firm who had secured plum projects
in Mumbai and Pune worth crores of rupees. When probed by Business
Standard another news paper , the Backops’ registered office in Central Delhi was
found to be bogus, as it was the office of a chartered accountancy firm called
Thakur Vaidyanath Aiyar and
Company. Then he quit the company in
2009 giving way for her sister Priyanka, though, as of now, the company is not
a going concern.
All contracts secured by Backops were
related to providing engineering design services and Raghul’s
educational background suggests he had no expertise whatsoever in the design
field that goes to prove that these contracts were got with political clouts.
Conclusion:
Raghul had said: “The Indian flag is my religion. He would
serve the people this flag represents. It would be a disservice to both his
religion and his party , before he took up a job before he knew what our
workers and people feel and need. He would not let them down.”
Raghul’s speech is no match for his awful deeds so
far and it is great that Indian Voters had judged him correctly and voted his
party down.
