3 NORTH EAST LAKSHMIES CROWNED MODI AGAIN

Three North East Lakshmies were Tirupura, Nagaland and Meghalaya where the BJP as the major partner in Tirupura, the minor partner in Nagaland and the most insignificant partner in Meghalaya won the Assembly Elections to form the governments for the second term. This Success is to be written in bold Golden Letters as the BJP’s Developmental and Poverty Alleviation Programs  had actually thwarted the Anti-Incumbency factors amongst the majority of the voters.

North East Region consists of 8 States viz. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Tirupura, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Sikkim. These States are called 8 Sisters of Main Land India and Modi had said that these States which were neglected by the then Delhi Congress Rulers had now become the main focus for Developmental Schemes in tune with the rest of other Indian States and that these 8 North East States are actually Ashta Lakmies – 8 Lakmies blessing rest of Indian States.

Spectacular Wins in Tirupura & Nagaland & Significant Win of 2 seats in Meghalaya conferring on BJP the status of King Maker are not small achievements as Tirupura being Tribal Belt and Nagaland/Meghalaya being Christian Dominant States.

Modi/Shaw’s Success Stories in such North East Regions suffering from Naxalites/Left Extremism, Militant and Terrorists Attacks, Misguided Tribals point to the creation of North Eastern Democtratic Alliance within National Democratic Alliance which are ably tackled by Himanta Biswa Sarma – the present Assam Chief Minister whose role in the success stories of North East Region is commendable.

The following displays will throw light on the achievements of the BJP in these 3 North Eastern States.

The Readers attention are drawn to the following facts which will give an idea of the tremendous ground work done by the BJP after Modi came to power as the PM in 2014.

Facts: “The BJP had less than two per cent votes in the 2013 assembly elections in Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Tripura. However, in 2018, the party’s vote share rose to ten per cent in Meghalaya, 15 per cent in Nagaland, and 44 per cent in Tripura.

Five years later, in the 2023 assembly election in these states, the BJP has almost maintained its vote share in Meghalaya, gained four per cent votes in Nagaland, and lost five per cent votes in Tripura but retained power by getting the majority alone.

All because of “MODI MAGIC” – says India Today News Channel.

In Tirupura BJP won 32 seats in 2023 election as  against 36 in 2018 election – 4 seats less. Its allies IPFT won 1 seat out of its 5 seats contested.

All BJP ministers Speaker and Dy. Speaker won but Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma lost to Tipra party by just 651 votes.

Manik Saha – who switched over from Congress to BJP in 2016 – was made the CM – replacing Biplab Kumar Deb to neutralize the anti-incumbency and this move had helped both anti-incumbency and the new challenge from Pradyo Debbarman’s Tipra Motha.  The victory of the BJP as well as Dr Manik Saha shows that the BJP was right in replacing Biplab Deb at the very last moment. Dr Saha's medical feat is also awe-inspiring for many voters. In January 2023, Saha shared on Twitter how he conducted surgery on a 10-year-old boy after a long time at Tripura Medical College. Above all his Mr. Clean tag had fetched him victory for the BJP in spite of opposition parties high decibels campaigns.

There are 20 tribal reserved seats where Tipra party won 13 while the BJP had to be content with 6 (contested 15 seats). Its ally Tribal based party IPFT could win just one seat of its contested seats of 5 .

CPIM& Congress alliance secured CPIM 11 (-5)(CPIM contested 44 seats and its other three partners 1 each – none won)  & Congress 3 (+3)(Congress contested 13 seats). While Congress gained from left votes, the reverse did not happen.

The real challenge for all parties came from a new party – Tirupura Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA Motha) which had won 13 seats (+13) becoming the main opposition party pushing CPIM to third position. TIPRA Chief is Pradyot Debbarma, the son of the last king of Tirupura. TIPRA is popular in tribal areas.

Tiranamool Congress had suffered a major setback in Tirupura (contested 28 seats), as all its candidates had lost elections and all had also lost their deposits.

TIPRA party in all likely hood may join the BJP-led government in the coming days, as Tipra Chief had more inclined towards BJP rather than CPIM/Congress as of now, though there are no immediate necessity for the BJP to woo Tipra party.  The victory also makes way for a second term for Dr Saha as the chief minister.

A Brief Analysis of Nagaland Election Results:

In Nagaland  BJP + NDPP – with mostly Christian populations had secured 37 seats (+7) (NDPP – 25 & BJP 12). BJP had won the same 12 seats in 2018 assembly election. Rio’s 40 – 20 formula for contesting elections between NDPP and BJP had worked smoothly for the two consecutive elections.  Congress drew blank in this election like last one.

National People's Party (NPP) president Conrad K Sangma called on Meghalaya Governor Phagu Chauhan and submitted to him the letter of support of 32 MLAs, while staking claim to form the government in the northeastern state. Sangma, the outgoing chief minister, said he has the support of BJP, HSPDP and two Independent MLAs, while asserting the total tally may go up in the coming days as he is in touch with other parties as well.

In Meghalaya – no party secured an absolute majority.

Conrad Sangma – present Meghalaya CM who had an alliance with BJP before election – severed his alliance and BJP contested all seats but could win only 2 (+2).

Sangma party NPP won 26 (+6) and Sangma had again rejoined NDA to form the Government.

The worst sufferer  in Meghalaya election was Congress which won only 5 seats as against its 21 seats in the last election thereby losing 16 seats.

As on date, all 8 North Eastern States had become BJP + ruled due to Modi Magic which is rated as a rare achievement by even by the arch Media enemies of Modi.

Modi remarked: The Opposition ecosystem always tried to brand the BJP – initially as a baniya party, then an urban party which does not have support in rural India. But the BJP kept proving all of them wrong. They said that the BJP is anti-tribal, but we won even in tribal belts.

North East is neither far from Dilli nor frok dil (heart) – Some kattar (fanatical) people are saying ‘mar jaa modi’ (Die Modi) but the country is saying ‘mat jaa modi (Don’t go Modi).

Even in six by polls across five states, NDAwon 3 and Congress won 3.

Didi’s ambitions of growing beyond West Bengal suffered a major setback by her utter defeat in North East due to BJPs victory and in West Bengal Bye Election by Congress’s win.

These poll defeats had angered Didi and she openly said: TMC will not align with Congress or Left for the Lok Sabha polls in 2024.  Hence one Dharna Fame Didi wicket was down for the ANTI-MODI BRIGADE FOR LOK SABHA 2024 ELECTION.

There are more assembly elections in the coming months in 2023 before the Lok Sabha Election in 2024 – Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana.

Stakes for both Congress and BJP are very high as Congress is ruling in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka are under BJP rule.

Telegana is ruled by  Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS – previously Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the present Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao wanted to enter Central Politics and that was the main reasons to change the name of his party as BRS. He expressed his goal to defeat BJP and Modi in the coming Lok Sabha election. He is trying very hard to unite all opposition parties to defeat Modi – but he was allergic to ally with Congress. Hence Mr. Rao’s stake to win again Telegana becomes crucial and if he could not succeed to the form the Telegana Government again, then that will be his waterloo for the Lok Sabha election.

It is really not a good politics for India’s Development to have elections every year and hence Modi’s formula of ‘ONE ELECTION FOR EVERY FIVE YEAR’ seems to be a welcome suggestion to implement sooner than later.
