General Information: Single Phase election on 5th October 2024 and election results declared on 8 October 2024.

Political Developments during 14th Haryana Assembly:

The previous Assembly elections were held in October 2019, in which the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the single largest party. After the election, the BJP formed a coalition government with the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) with Manohar Lal Khattar becoming the Chief Minister and Dushyant Chautala of JJP as his deputy.

On 12 March 2024 - just before the assembly election, Khattar resigned as the Chief Minister after the coalition between the BJP and JJP came to an end.

Nayab Singh Saini of the BJP was sworn in as the new Chief Minister on the same day with the support of Independents.  After three independents withdrew their support to the BJP government in May 2024, Saini led a minority government.  Dy Chief Minister with 10 seats in the last election could not win even a single seat - wrong move in severing his alliance with BJP.

High Lights:

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections held earlier in the year, the BJP which had held all the seats following the 2019, retained five seats while the Indian National Congress won the remaining five seats.

In the 2019 assembly elections, the BJP had failed to cross the majority mark with 40 seats, but formed the coalition government with support from the JJP and a few Independent MLAs.  But now BJP had crossed half way mark with 48 seats of its own.

For the first time, a government has been formed in Haryana after completing two terms of 5 years each which was a historic feat.

Hat Trick Victory of Haryana :

When Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed party workers at BJP headquarter in Delhi after the spectacular victory in Haryana Assembly Election,

He said:

For the first time, a government has been formed in Haryana after completing two terms of 5 years each.

The people of Haryana have scripted history. Haryana was formed in 1966 and in these years, many stalwarts led the state, they were popular in the country.

13 elections took place in Haryana till now and in 10 polls, people have changed the government. After 5 years and in the last three elections, it has not happened. It's the first time that a government has managed to get 2 terms and win a third one. The people of Haryana not only made us win but gave us more seats and more vote share. They wholeheartedly voted for us."

Our Modiji's observations are more than sufficient to sum up the victory of BJP in Haryana for the third consecutive term.

Nayab Singh Saini will be the next Chief Minister of Haryana.

The INDI Alliance of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), Indian National Congress (INC) and Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) won a majority of seats in the election, winning 49 of the 90 seats for which elections were held, with JKNC winning the highest number of seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the largest share of the popular vote for a single party at 25.64% of the total.

This is the first assembly election in over a decade, and the first since the territory's special status was revoked.

Most Interesting point is that BJP - though won only 29 seats, its vote percentage is the highest at 25.64% as against JK NC's vote share of 23.43% but winning a whooping 42 seats.

Omar Abdullah was elected as the leader of the house and he was sworn in as CM.

His first public statement after his victory was mature and practical. He said: “There was ‘no chance’ of getting Article 370 back, and that it would be ‘foolish’ to think otherwise. This government will be as much a government  for those who voted for BJP as much as for those who voted for NC and Congress.”

Out of Total seats of 90, Kashmir Region has 47 seats and Jammu Region has 43 seats.  In the recently held election, JK NC got 42 – all in Kashmir Region and none in Jammu Region and BJP got  29 seats all in Jammu  and none in Kashmir Region. Election results reflect the regional and religious factors of the respective regions. The CM Omar  Abdullah appeals to Kashmiri Pundits to come back to Kashmir which is on the face of it, is to be welcomed.

The Union Territory held its first assembly elections in ten years, which is also the first assembly poll after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019 that granted special status. Voting was held in three phases in the 90 assembly seats: September 18, September 25, and October 1.

In fine, it is a great success for BJP both in Haryana and J & K.

It was a sad state of affairs to observe that Congress is not ready to accept its defeat in Haryana - again accusing AVM, Election Commission and BJP.

Let me complete the essay with the observations of our Honorable PM Modiji which becomes quotable quotes of Congress Miserable Misdeeds:

"Congress is such a parasitic party that swallows its allies.

In Jammu and Kashmir, Congress allies were already worried that they were suffering losses because of Congress and today's results have shown the same. You must remember that we saw the same thing in the election results as well. In Lok Sabha, half of the seats won by Congress were because of their allies. Apart from this, where the allies trusted Congress, the boat of those allies sank. In many states, the allies of Congress had to bear the brunt of Congress's poor performance.

Congress wants to make such a country where people hate their own heritage, doubt their national institutions, wants to tarnish the image of everything that the countrymen are proud of.  Whether it is the country's Election Commission, the country's police, the country's judiciary, Congress wants to tarnish every institution.

Congress wants to weaken the country and by weakening the Indian society and spreading anarchy in India, that is why they are instigating different sections. They are constantly trying to ignite a fire. The country saw how attempts were made to instigate farmers, but the farmers of Haryana gave them a befitting reply that they are with the country, they are with the BJP. Many attempts were made to instigate Dalits and OBCs, but this society also recognised this conspiracy and said that they are with the country, they are with the BJP.

 E-TOUCH CONGRATULATE BOTH

 HARYANA CM Nayab Singh Saini

&

JAMMU & KASHMIR CM Omar Abdullah

& pleads them to rule the states with utmost justice.

E-Touch presents them a bouquet jointly.

JAI HOM SAINI AND OMAR !
