HOLY MONTH OF MARGAZHI


Margazhi in this year is on 16th December 2024 and it lasts till 13th January 2025. And another important month of Thai – Month of Harvest Festival called Pongal follows from 14th January 2025. 

Sri Bhagavan Krishna declared in his Bhagavad Gita that ‘amongst the months, I am margazhi.’ 

Margazhi is not only special for devotees of Perumal who invariably sing the devotional songs  of Perumal.

 

In the early hours daily during the month especially Andal’s Thirupavai and  Devotees of Shiva goes on Nama Sankeertan singing the devotional songs from Manikavasakar’s Thiruvembavai praising Lord Shiva. 

Such Acts of Devotees will purify not only body but also mind leading to strengthening body and injecting spirituality into the mind which will be beneficial to lead a healthy, wealthy and long life. 

Anything that was practiced for a month continuously, then the body clock will get used to this holy practice of getting up early and reciting spiritual versus and it becomes your daily routine throughout the year. 

During those holy month of Margazhi, streets will be swept clean and will be  decorated with mammoth colourful kolams which will greet the Bhakthas coming around the streets with musical instruments singing devotional songs in various groups. 

Margazhi is Month of Bhakthi and Spirituality. 

LET MONTH OF MARGAZHI BE CELEBRATED BY OUR MEMBERS OF VAAIMAI. 

LET ALL BE BLESSED BY LORD KRISHNA AND LORD SHIVA.

Carnatic Musicians Aiding for Christian Conversion Efforts – Courtesy: Naithrupan

Nithyashree Mahadevan , Aruna Sairam , OS Arun , Unnikrishnan , Anuradha Shriram , Tippu & Saindhavi – names that you’re most familiar with Carnatic music who are supposed to be a role model for younger generatons .  The above mentioned singers  stooped down to the lowest level possible. They all signed up to sell their music, Thyagaraja Kirthanas to christian mission by simply changing few words and singing in praise of Jesus. It is highly condemnable that they chose to replace the word Rama with Yesu and sang all the kirthanas . It is that same Rama and Krishna who showered their blessings and made them popular and these scumbags have decided to sell our kirthanas to churches who will use them ONLY to do more conversion. What a shame! On the contrary, Isaignani Ilayaraja that he will not score for the movie “ Periyar ” even if he is offered any number of crores – that is conviction!
