Remembering Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam on his second death anniversary on 27th July 2017
A fitting Memorable Memorial for Kalam at Pei Karumbu in Rameswaram where he was buried was made ready with all its
splendor within a period one year and all credits should go to DRDO who could made this happen in record 9
months. The second phase of the memorial
will consist of the knowledge centre- a library, planetarium and auditorium.
Its completion will take at least a year.
The entrance of the memorial depicts the India Gate and has a Chettinad door integrated into
the structure, while the main dome of the building is a replica of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The memorial will
reflect India's diversity and various cultures and will pay homage to Kalam's life, displaying
replicas of rockets and missiles that the late ace scientist worked on.
Modi had inaugurated the Memorial on the 27th
July 2017 with much fanfare for which the Tamilnadu Government had extended all their support and
assistance in making the function a great success. Citing epic Ramanayana, Modi said like the
squirrel helped Lord Ram to build Ram Sethu all should contribute for the development of the
country. “If each one of the 125 crore people marched one foot ahead like the squirrel, the
India will march 125 crore foot ahead,” he
said.
Let us all pay our Homage to
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam – a rare Jewel from
South India on his second death anniversary.
