Akshaya Tritiya 7th May 2019 (Tuesday)

The Most Important Mantra of Akshaya Tritiya: “Remember the Kind act of Giving is Thousand Times More Powerful than that of Receiving”.

Akshaya means ‘ETERLAL’  - never diminishing and Tritiya  means  3rd Lunar Day  as per the Hindu Calendar.  Hence, Akshaya Tritiya is considered as the most golden day of the year.  Celebrating that day means that one will be blessed with ‘Eternal Wealth throughout the year.’

Akshaya Tritiya (Akha Teej) is a very popular festival that the Hindus and Jains celebrate every year.  Akshaya Tritiya is the day when the great God of Wisdom, God Ganesha, started writing the epic work called Mahabharata. It is also believed that when the Pandavas were in exile the Lord presented them a bowl which was named Akshaya Tritiya. That bowl was never empty and produces an unlimited amount of food on demand.

The most popular story regarding the celebration of Akshaya Tritiya is that Lord Krishna had blessed his school mate Sudama with wealth without Sudama himself praying to help him by just tasting Poha which the poor Brahmin Sudama had brought with him to offer to Krishna. When Krishna had tasted Poha, Sudama’s poverty had vanished.

The day on which Sudama had become rich due to Krishna’s  blessings is also called Akshaya Triya.  The Hindu community considers this day as a lucky day and believes that any venture such as a business or the construction of a building started on that day will  be prosperous.

We pray for the prosperity and plenty of all our friends and their family members.
