Ram Navami is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Lord Rama. 

 

King Dasharatha - the King of Ayodhya had three queens, Kaushalya, Sumitra, and Kaikeyi. The three queens were unable to give birth to a child for a very long time.

 

King Dashratha performed a sacred ritual known as “Putrakameshti Yagna,” which was suggested by Sage Vasishtha.

 

In the ritual, the king served ‘payasam’ to all his wives to fulfill his wish of having a child.

 

As a result, the king was blessed with a baby boy on the ninth day of the Hindu month, Chitra.

 

Queen Kaushalya gave birth to Lord Rama, whereas the other queens gave birth to Lakshmana and Bharata.

Gandhi Recited Quran Verses in the Temple of Valmiki Basti near Delhi

  Once Mohandas. K. Gandhi was reciting Quran in the temple of Valmiki Basti near Delhi.   Then a woman from the crowd got up and asked Gandhi not to do so. Gandhi asked: Why?   Then that woman said that it is against our religion.    Gandhi said. I don't believe so. ..The woman replied that we do not consider you worthy to give order in religion..   Gandhi said that the vote of the people present here should be taken. The woman replied whether religion could be decided by votes?.   Gandhi said that you are obstructing my religious freedom.
