Dharna Didi had acquired all the above mentioned qualities to demolish opposition parties – Congress & Communists and also to capture power and was the winner as the chief minister of a great state of West Bengal consecutively for three successive terms from May 2011 till date.

Her style, her aggressiveness and her dictatorial attitudes even in governance had made the public to suffer untold violence, riots, murders, rapes, lootings apart from unprecedented corruptions by the TMC Satraps, and various scams – latest one being West Bengal School Service Commission which had even shaken Didi forcing her to take some action against her Minister Partha Chatterjee who was said to be Didi’s Man Friday – now becoming Man Saturn and/or Main Saturn.

Perhaps Partha may tarnish the image of Didi which may result in her losing elections next time. Didi is no match for Chanakya Amit Shaw and let us wish for the best – BJP Rule in West Bengal in 2026 or earlier, if Didi in her frustration dissolves the Assembly before completing her term.

 

What is Bengal Teacher SSC Recruitment Scam?

The alleged scam dates back to 2014 when the West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC) issued a notification for the appointment of teachers in state-run schools in West Bengal through the State Level Selection Test (SLST).

The recruitment process began in 2016 when Partha Chatterjee was the Minister-in-Charge of the Higher Education and School Education Department in West Bengal. However, a series of petitions were filed in the Calcutta High Court alleging anomalies in the recruitment process.

The petitioners alleged that many examinees who got less marks ranked high on the merit list. And, there were several allegations that some applicants, who weren’t even on the merit list, received appointment letters.

Further, in a second but related case, the Bengal government in 2016 issued a notification to the School Service Commission (SSC) for the recruitment of 13,000 Group D staff in government-run or aided schools. The tenure of the panel responsible for said recruitment expired in 2019, but several petitions alleged that recruitment had taken place despite the expiration of the panel’s tenure and as many as 25 persons were allegedly appointed by the WBBSE.

However, during a hearing on the case, petitioners claimed that not just 25 but over 500 people were appointed after the SSC panel expired, and they were now drawing salaries from the state government.

Soon a CBI probe was launched in the case following an order by the Calcutta High Court bench of Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay.

The appointment of 269 primary school teachers in Bengal government-sponsored and -aided schools were also termed illegal, after petitioners alleged that these candidates did not qualify for the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET).

It is further alleged some of the TETs fail and/or ineligible candidates of TET 2014 got appointments as Assistant teachers in primary schools. A number of ineligible candidates who did not answer the question by answering the MCQ and submitted blank exam papers only mentioning their personal details got appointments as Assistant Teachers.

Bengal industries and commerce minister Partha Chatterjee became involved in the scam when he held the education portfolio. Justice Gangopadhyay directed him to appear before the CBI for questioning.

At present, the scam is being jointly investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). While the CBI is probing the criminal aspect of the alleged recruitment scam, the ED is investigating the money laundering aspects.

How is Arpita Mukherjee related to Partha Chatterjee?

In all the companies, Arpita Mukherjee is the Director. Partha Chatterjee's close aide, Arpita Mukherjee, who has been arrested for possessing Rs 20 crore with her, is the owner of six-six companies.

Both Didi’s Minister and her second in command Partha Chatterjee was arrested along with his close aide Arpita Mukherjee, after the recovery of huge cash amounting to Rs.50 crore plus Gold jewelleries were recovered from their residences.

The said amount is suspected to be the proceeds of the crime of said SSC scam.

Besides cash, a number of other incriminating documents, records, details of dubious companies, electronic devices, foreign currency and gold has also been recovered from the various premises of the persons linked to the scam. As per reports, the investigation agency has also recovered multiple WBSSC documents and admit cards of several students from Mukherjee’s apartment and Chatterjee’s residence during the raids, while several property-related documents have been found from Chatterjee’s residence as well. 

After getting arrested, Partha tried to contact CM Mamata Banerjee, who ignored his calls.

Didi’s statement about seizure of Rs.50 crores connected to SSC Bengal Scam is very dangerous, anti-democratic, anti-constitutional.

Let me quote what Didi had uttered during the the award ceremony program of Banga Bhushan and Banga Vibhushan program at Nazrul Manch.

"While running a big institution, people can make mistakes. There is also the right to make blunders - Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose said.“

CM of a big state like West Bengal saying this is really dangerous, worrying and condemnable. Let Bengal Kali save us from Didi's corrupt rule sooner.

Didi’s further outbursts: “I don’t support corruption, won’t let anyone malign me. I had no inkling of school staff recruitment scam. There have been attempts to malign me.

If someone is a thief, then Trinamool Congress does not care about that person.

I had my own party boys arrested. I have not spared my own MLAs, MPs and Minister if they do something wrong. But if you try to besmirch my name, then remember I too carry coal tar.

Her government had never indulged in any wrong doing knowingly and the investigation should be completed in a time-bound manner.

You can do whatever you want against the person, who has committed a crime, I don’t care. But don’t try to touch me.

If you touch me, I know how how to fight you… We will be the winner ultimately.

A wounded lion is dangerous. Don’t play with me.

Some money was recovered from the house of a woman. Let the truth come out. But why was my picture being shown in connection with the money that was recovered?

She had no idea about the scam.

I have faith in the judiciary even though I know how much influence the BJP has on the judiciary. The entire media has been bought over by the BJP.”

 

Some readers may feel that the heading of this editorial is very prejudicial more so to paint Bengal CM Mamata Bannerjee as ‘Animal Instinct Avator’.

When Didi herself joyfully portraying her as ‘Dangerous Wounded Lion’, my above characterization gains strength and needs no more further elucidations.

Latest report is that Partha seems to have told the interrogators that the money was collected from ineligible candidates to get them jobs as school teachers.

It was party diktat, I was just keeping the money.

CAT IS OUT & DIDI IS CAUGHT.

TMC earned a new meaning - TOO MUCH CASH or/and TOO MUCH CORRUPTION.

DIDI this time is OUT.

E-Touch is crowning Partha Chatterjee and her aide Arpita Mukherjee with Crowns of Thorns as to defame them for their scams, misuse of positions etc.

E-Touch feels that CM Mamata Bannerjee is jointly and severally responsible for the scam – her pleas that ‘I had no idea about the scam’ are false and as a CM – contributory negligence clause – is sufficient to prove her as guilty, if Partha and Arpita are convicted by the court. Hence Didi also is being crowned with Crown of Thorns.

Further E-Touch feels that ‘crowning with crown thorns’ will not be complete until the Voters of West Bengal are also crowned with Crown of Thorns for having voted Didi to power continuously in the past three elections in 2011, 2016 and 2021.
