Link for more details:   https://www.opindia.com/.../mahatma-gandhi-wanted-union.../   Essay is written by Pavithran, E-Touch Reporter. The contents of the essay were checked and re-checked and great care had been taken to present only authentic information, incidents and interviews. Most of its contents were from Gandhi’s Collection of Works. Some opinions and views of Gandhiji give heartache. Being an ordinary citizen and not like Gandhiji who was Mahatma in the true sense of the word, I felt a little bit uneasy and sad in writing this essay. Still my love and admiration of Gandhiji are not shaken or shattered.   His theory of Ahimsa, His Appeasement Approaches to win over Muslim Brethren, His Support to Khilafat Movement (which Gandhi later regretted for having supported) are complex and complicated and just pass judgement on them by me is not correct and is not my job either. Hence, I am just sharing Gandhiji’s views only.   S. Sankaran.   ESSAY BY PAVITHRAN:   On July 22, 1947, ou

ENSLAVED MENTALITY OF NEHRU AS A FIRST PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA

Image
At the time of India gained freedom from the Brutal British Raj, Our First Prime Minister Nehru, instead of being an Enlightened Proud Indian Citizen, had shown enslaved mentality and had gone on records that the Britishers, while leaving our Country, should not feel hurt. Nehru’s Enslaved Mentality was revealed on three or more occasions. Nehru and others need not have requested Mountbatten to continue to hold power even after 15 th   August 1947 indicating a flaw in making us Completely Free from Foreign Rule. Nehru, while hoisting our National Flag on the midnight of 15 th   August 1947, had not unfurled UK Union Jack simultaneously simply not to wound the feelings of the Britishers ! Nehru also wanted a UK Military Head to become the First Chief of our Army stating that ‘there are no talented Army Head to occupy our Indian Army.’ This open statement was politely questioned by an Intelligent and National Spirited Top Army man, when he posed a counter question: “Then even w

MAJESTIC AND MAGNIFICIENT NEW PARLIAMENT BUILDING IN CENTRAL VISTA

Image
Central Vista was renamed as Kartavya Path.  The original proposal for a new parliament building to replace the existing complex due to stability concerns with the older structure was mooted by the then speaker Meira Kumar in 2012. At that time, as the old parliament building which was built by the Britishers 93 years ago,  was suffering from inadequate space apart from its structural stability risks and being not earthquake-proof. The Meira Kumar’s proposal was taken up by Modi in 2019 in right earnest and the Indian government launched the Central Vista Redevelopment Project, which included the construction of a new parliament building along with other projects in New Delhi, including revamping Kartavya Path, construction of a new residence for the vice president, a new office and residence for the prime minister and combining all ministerial buildings in a single central secretariat. The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction was held in October 2020, and the foundation ston

A person was very fond of parrots. He used to catch parrots, train them and sell them to interested people. One time he got a good parrot, so he trained him in talking, and when he was trained he presented him to king. King liked the parrot because he used to reply his questions too. The king made special arrangements for his safety, security and care and if somebody will tell me about his death, he will be hung. Hearing this the parrot was kept under special care. But one day suddenly the parrot died. Now who should go and inform this to king? The servant went to Birbal and told him his plight. He said - "If I inform him about parrot's death, then he will kill me, but if I do not tell him, then also he will kill me, so please save me.“   Birbal thought a while and sent him back to his work, and he himself went to the king and said - "Sir, Your parrot..." King asked -"What about parrot?" Birbal again stammered - "Your parrot, Sir." King asked - &q

MY DAUGHTER’S MOTHER By Priya Murali Doss

PREFACE:  “Present day daughters need no advice – rather mothers can learn from their daughters! Strange, but, true” are the message of this two page article. To hear from one such mother has its own authenticity. She stands tall at 4.9, oval face (though I still miss the rounded face she was born with), long hair and a dimpled smile – meet my daughter Shreya. Did I tell you that I always dreamt of having a daughter that when she was born the first question that popped out was “Is she fine”?, which caught the doctor off guard.  Ask me why I wanted a daughter? Well I just liked the idea of a girl who’ll share all her thoughts, secrets, and dreams with me and share the world between us.   The growing up years:   On a typical day we are ready to face a combat of words and attitude. I see her hanging around by the window taking the fresh air and dreaming away. She’s a born dreamer; only I get tired of her waking dreams. Her famous one-liner, “Amma, can you wait for 2 seconds?” Only her 2
