“O, Manmohan Singh! You too Brutus?” by Pavithran

Gujarat Election is very much important both for BJP and Congress – more so for BJP rather than Congress, as any slip may endanger BJP’s image and prospects in other elections to be held next year. Hence, it is quite plausible that neither Modi nor Amit Shaw can ill afford to take the Gujarat election lightly. Apart from Modi and Amit Shaw, many Central Ministers are camping and campaigning at Gujarat to counter ‘one man army’ – Rahul.

For BJP, not only winning Gujarat election which is almost certain, its’ winning goal of 150+ seats is equally gaining momentum and also its vote share. This is because anything short of 150 seats by BJP may be projected as ‘victory’ for Rahul’s one man army’s impact which will be carried forward for forthcoming elections making BJP on the defensive. More so, Gujarat is Modi’s Home State.

Again Gujarat is a border state – Pakistan on the next door and the people’s clear overwhelming mandate will send a clear signal to the belligerent Pakistan.

In a democratic set up, Congress has every right to challenge BJP in its campaigns – even using unethical epithets on BJP’s top leaders though avoidable – not a major issue beyond borders. But it is really dangerous, if Congress, in order to win the election in Gujarat, had resorted to ‘seek and get guidance’ from our neighbor Pakistani Officials.

On the 6th December 2017, the following persons were seen attending a secret meeting at Mani Shankar’s New Delhi residence discussing for more than 3 hours.

Participants were: 1.Pakistan’s High Commissioner. 2. Pakistan’s Former Foreign Minister.           3. India’s Former’s Vice-President. 4. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The meeting was kept secret, as the Government of India was not informed about this and the protocol seems to have been violated – Former PM and Former Vice President are duty bound to explain to the Nation the reasons and purpose of their meeting.

During the same period, posters quoting Pakistan Former Army Director General Arshad Rafiq were appearing in the Limbayat area of Surat where Modi was to address next day having the following message: Rahul Gandhi’s elevation as Congress president and saying Ahmed Patel, (the political secretary to Congress president Sonia Gandhi) should be the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Congress had said that the secret meeting and the alleged

posters were said to be baseless allegations by the BJP

prompted by its worry about its impending defeat in Gujarat.

But, India wants Former PM and Former Vice President to

come out with their statements and in particular Manmohan

Singh.

India knows very well about ‘Neech’ Fame Mani Shankar

Aiyar and Ansari’s mind set, it is very bad and sad that

Manmohan Singh had of late fallen into the trap laid by the

Congress Team – perhaps, we doubt whether ‘Minority has

the first priority’ fame Manmohan Singh had been revived.

‘It is a serious and sensitive issue’ as said by Modi.

In the absence of Manmohan Singh’s explanations, India is

aghast and wants to ask: ‘O, Manmohan Singh! You too

Brutus?’
