CONGRESS – CLUELESS, CASUALNESS, CARELESS, CAUTIONLESS

Congress is not only clueless, casualness, careless and cautionless – but also leaderless, as the Grand Old Party has become incapable of electing a permanent leader in such a critical period of the party’s history.

Rahul had come forward to resign for party’s consecutive Himalayan failures on two Lok Sabha Elections held – reducing its Lok Sabha MPs to 44 in 2014 and to 52 in 2019 even losing a Recognized Opposition Party second time and losing himself in Amethi with sizeable margin. But due to serfdom  dynastic mentality which has become Congress Party’s DNA, the Party wanted to shield him from such ignominious party’s failures. 

But Rahul was adamant in not only in resigning his president’s post but also firm on someone other than Sonia and Priyanka Vadra to lead the party henceforth. Even this had not happened. His calls to congress leaders at all levels exceptionally Old Guards holding posts to resign holding them accountable had not achieved its desired effects – no big wigs had so far resigned from the party’s posts leaving Rahul baffled and crest fallen and powerless. 

Worst, these Loyal Dynastics’ Satraps had instead  begged Sonia instead to take up the leadership of the party!

Alas, Congress, after many days of confusions and conflicts, had again appointed Sonia as the President – though terming the elevation as a temporary arrangement. It resembles Nehru’s calling ‘Article 370’ as a temporary measure to keep Kashmir with India but, Temporary Article 370 was allowed undisturbed for the last 70 years. Congress foolishly thinks that only such an arrangement will keep the party intact, as otherwise it will split – cementing force for the time being is Sonia alone, the party seems to think in unison! Here again Rahul was stumped!

Things had become bad to worst for the opposition parties in general and Congress party in particular in confronting BJP, when the BJP had brought two important bills – viz. Abolition of Instant Triple Talaq and Abrogation of Article 370 and 35 A. Two major issues of Instant Triple Talaq Abolition and Abrogation of Articles 370 and 35 A had exposed Congress its poor floor management, as there were no cogent and effective Discussions and votings in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha by the Congress Party MPs.

Though BJP did not have the numbers in Rajya Sabha to pass the bills, they had succeeded by its deft handling.

The Abrogation of Articles 370 and 35 A was passed by 99 votes in favour and 84 against it. It was noticed that several members of the Congress, the NCP, the Samajwadi Party, the BSP, Telegana Rashtra Samithi and YSR Congress did not participate, while NDA Alliance Party JDU staged a walk out along with AIADMK and even Didi’s Party MPs. Hence the majority mark of 121 in the 242 member Rajya Sabha, the ruling NDA with 107 could succeed in having the bill passed.

In Lok Sabha where the BJP has the majority, the bill was passed with 351 members voting in its support and 72 against it with one member absent. 

Hence in both the houses, the bill was passed by 2/3rd Majority. In short, apart from Muslim Parties such as NC and PDP in Kashmir, Congress, JDU, DMK and Communists alone had opposed 370 and 35 A.

The worst sufferer was Congress in opposing abrogation of 370 and 35 A because Bhubaneshwar Kalita who was the whip of Rajya Sabha refused to issue a whip as per the command of the Congress High Command stating that ‘opposing abolition of 370 and 35 A is against the mood  of the nation’.

He had also immediately resigned his Rajya Sabha member. Even two more SP members had also resigned on the same issue.

Even after successful passing of 370 bill, many congress satraps had given sleepless nights to Congress by supporting Modi’s moves in 370 in particular and praising Modi in general.

Dr.Karan Singh – Tiger of Kashmir as being affectionately called by his father Hari Singh – had gone on record that "I personally do not agree with a blanket condemnation of these developments.

There are several positive points. Ladakh's emergence as UT is to be welcomed. The gender discrimination in Article 35 A needed to be addressed as also the long awaited enfranchisement of West Pakistan refugees and reservation for Scheduled Tribes will be welcomed."

Senior Congress leader Janardan Dwivedi  - the Most Reliable and Trusted Man Friday of Sonia – Her Master’s Voice - supported Modi on the abrogation of Article 370, saying a "historical mistake" has been corrected by the government.

Added to Congress further woes, Jairam Ramesh  Ex-Environment Minister, sounded his views openly that always demonishing Modi was wrong and Modi should be praised for his good work as well. His views were supported by other Congress Leaders such as Abhishek Singhvi, Shashi Tharoor and Jyotiraditya Scindia.

It is unbelievable that even Mani Shankar Aiyar – famous for his call to Pakistan in its soil to help Congress to ‘finish Modi in election, as Congress is unable to do it’ – had joined Modi Praise Song Team!

Why? Even the main forerunner in Modi Hate Gang of Congress  P. Chidambaram had praised Modi for his 73rd Independence Day Celebration Red Fort Address pertaining to a few areas of concerns as expressed by our PM Modi!

As fate would have it, even Rahul who is the Champion in Modi Hate Campaign since he was made Vice President and the President of Congress Party, was for the first time admitted that though he had condemned Modi Government on many issues, let him make this absolutely clear: Kashmir is India’s Internal issue and there is no room for Pakistan or any other foreign country to interfere in it. Rahul was forced to take a U-Turn of his comments about violence in Kashmir after abrogation of 370, as Pakistan had quoted Rahul’s statements about the violent situations in J & K in their letter to the United Nations to much embarrassment to Congress in India and even abroad.

Earlier in Lok Sabah during the discussions about abrogation of 370, the leader of Congress Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury wondered how Kashmir could be an internal matter for India when the United Nations has been approached in the matter. He also questioned about the status of Pakistan occupied Kashmir following the abrogation of special status. Needless to say, his utterances left the top leadership fuming and his party red-faced.

And hence such senseless utterances in August Body by Adhir Ranjan Chowdhruy followed by Rahul’s outbursts to malign Modi by his thoughtless statements and comments to media giving much needed fodders to Pakistan which is isolated in the world forum, are all to show how Congress had pushed to Rudderless and Leaderless Status. With many top leaders of Congress facing various cases and under bails which include even Rahul and Sonia, Congress has lost its prime slot and it may not be easy for the party to regain its past glory in the near future.

So much so, it is good for New India and hence Bharath.
