On National Sports Day of 29th
August 2019, Modi inaugurated Fit
India Movement as the people’s movement at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. National Sports Day
is being celebrated on the birth anniversary of Major Dhyanchand - India's sports
icon who enthralled the world with his game and techniques. He also
congratulated the young sportspersons of the country who are keeping the
tricolor afloat on the world stage through their efforts.
The
presentation made here today, there was some message of fitness every moment in
this presentation. By reminding us of traditions, how can we keep
ourselves fit, presented these things in the best way. And these things
have been presented so well that I feel no need for my speech. If we tie
all the things mentioned here in the presentation and make a couple of, a
couple of two a part of life; I do not believe that I will need to preach

Modi had amongst other things had said:
"Success is related to fitness, success stories of all of our icons from
any field of life have a common thread- most of them are fit, have a focus on
fitness and are fond of fitness. Technology has reduced our physical ability
and has robbed us of our daily fitness routines and today we are unaware of our
traditional practices and lifestyle which could keep us fit. With time,
fitness has been relegated a lower priority in our society. Earlier a
person used to walk or cycle for kilometers, today mobile apps have to tell us

Fit India Movement
is not a government movement. The government will pursue this subject as a
catalytic agent, but in every way the agenda of every family should be made, it
should become the topic of discussion of every family. If the businessman
calculates how much he earns every month, discuss in the family interested in
education how many marks the sons got; In the same way, physical labor,
physical exercise, physical fitness, it should become a matter of discussion in
everyday life within the family.
When you set a
goal in life, then our life starts to mold according to that goal. Life
changes, our habits become like that, our routines become like that. We
have a habit of getting up at eight o'clock in the morning, but if you have to
catch a ship at 6 o'clock in the morning, you have to catch a train at 6
o'clock, then we get up, we get ready.
If a student has
decided that I have to bring at least this percentage in the board of 10th or
12th, then you must have seen that he starts making a big change in
himself. To achieve his goal, his laziness ceases, his sitting capacity
increases, his concentration capacity increases, he reduces time with friends
gradually, slightly reduces eating habits, He stops watching TV, that is, he
starts molding his life because the goal in his mind is that I have to do it.
Many countries are
running big campaigns to increase awareness about fitness. In our
neighborhood, China-Healthy China 2030 is working on it in mission
mode. That is, by 2030, every citizen of China should be fit, for this
they have made a complete time table.
Similarly, to
increase the physical activity of Australians and inactive, which is laziness,
not to do anything, they have decided that by 2030, 15 percent of the citizens
of the country will be taken out of laziness for fitness. , we will work for
activeness.
A vigorous
campaign is going on in the UK that by 2020, five million new people should
join the daily exercise routine, They have set a target. By 2021,
America is working to connect one thousand cities with free fitness
campaign. In Germany, too, its big campaign is going on.
When we work with
passion, with a purpose, we move forward, then success is ready to kiss our
steps. And on success you must have also heard that saying - There is no
elevator to success, you have to take the stairs. That is, in this saying
also you have been asked to climb the steps of the ladder. Step, then you
will be able to climb only when you are fit.
The relationship of
success and fitness is also related to each other. Take any field today,
look at your icons, see their success stories, whether they are in sports,
films, business, most of them are fit. This is not just a
coincidence. If you read about their lifestyle, you will find that one
thing is common in every such person. The common character of successful
people is their focus on fitness, their trust in fitness. You must have
seen many doctors as well, are very popular and perform operations for many
patients 10-10, 12-12 hours a day. Many entrepreneurs hold one meeting in
one city in the morning, other meetings in another city, there is no wrinkle on
their face. Work with equal alertness. If you are in any profession,
you have to bring efficiency in your profession, then mental and physical
fitness is very important. Whether it is Boardroom or Bollywood, The one who is fit
touches the sky. Mind hit is body fit.
I would like fitness in
every way, as a festival, as a part of life, whatever the standard of success
of the family, fitness should also be the standard of success of a
family. Fitness should also be a standard in the successes of a person's
life. Healthy people, healthy families and healthy society, this is the
way to make the new India the best India.
