PANDEMIC CORONA – OH, GOD! SAVE US ALL!
WHO recognized Corona Virus as pandemic on the 11th
March 2020. As on March 2020, more than 737,500 cases of COVID-19 have been
reported over 183 countries resulting in
more than 35,000 deaths which works out to only 0.04% of total persons affected
and it is heartening to note that the recovery rate world over is around 20%. Kindly refer to the table below:
Though China was
initially worst affected with around 81,000, the recovery rate is around 93%
which is the highest best among all countries, while US with 144,090 affected,
its recovery rate is 3.37% which is a poor rating. UK’s recovery rate is 0.69%
which is still worst. It is equally strange that Netherland’s recovery rate is
0%. Russia having a long common border
with Originator
Corona Virus China could contain the virus with only 9 deaths, 66 recoveries of
total 1,836 of corona affected persons.
Actually for credible measures initiated by Russia, Modi had telephonic contacts
with Russian Putin to get a first hand information.
India’s affected
cases and deaths due to Corona was less, while recovery rate is around 8%.
Considering the large population in India, the position is still serious – but
not alarming and our preparedness seems to be planned and proactive so far.
Hope that the position will not slip further, but, the Corona affected &
death of persons will stop now.
In this Corona
Pandemic, the health care preparedness of so called developed nations like US,
UK, Netherland etc. were exposed. In France and Spain, the number of deaths in
some days had become so alarming that they could not cope up with the burial of
dead bodies.
Compared to these
countries, India with its 130 crore population had faced
and tackled this pandemic fairly well so far with self imposed curfew for a day
followed by 21 days lockdown from 24th March Midnight which will last till 14th April 2020.

Apart from health
care to tackle Corona Virus, Modi Government had announced various relief measures for income
tax payers, digital users, 3 months morotorium for EMIs etc. and in particular 1.70 lacs relief package for poor, farmers, poor senior citizens,
widows and disabled, and also to construction workers. Added to these, 5 major announcements to give
relief to Term Loans Borrowers in payment of installments and other measures to
improve liquidity position so as to increase lending etc. were also announced.

Social Distancing,
Hand Wash, Stay at Home, Strictly Obeying Governments’ Instructions pertaining
to Corona Virus, Avoiding Religious/Social Gatherings etc. are to be adhered to
by all as social obligations and duties.
