MAHA SHIVARATRI – 11th March 2021 – Thursday OM NAMAH SHIVAYA

Maha Shivaratri means ‘Great Night for Lord Shiva’.

That Night was Great because it was the birthday of Lord Shiva, the marriage day of Lord Shiva and Sakthi Devi Parvathi and also the day of His Cosmic Dance of Creation, Preservation and Destruction.

According to Indian Mythology, in the midnight of Maha Shivaratri, Lord Shiva was appeared in the form of Linga and hence the devotees worship Shiva Linga during Shivaratri with vilva leaves.

Further Maha Shivaratri is considered the day when Adi Yogi or the first Guru awakened Shiva’s consciousness at the material level of existence.

On the completion of earth’s creation, when Goddess Parvati asked Lord Shiva which was his most favorite day, Lord Shiva replied that Shivaratri is his favorite day.

LET US BE BLESSED BY LORD SHIVA ON HIS MOST FAVOURITE SHIVARATRI  DAY.

Saraswathi Jayanti on the 16th February,

Surya Jayanti on the 19th February

Shiva Jayanti on the 11th March
