Bengal Burning – Democratic Dictator Didi TMC’S Violent Dance To Celebrate Victory

Didi’s Electoral Victory consecutively for the third term was a great Himalayan achievement against the aggressive campaigns by BJP duly monitored by Home Minister Amit Shaw and BJP National President J. P. Nadda, coupled with Modi’s election rallies and his famous election rhetoric of ‘Didi, O! Didi’ being duly cheered by listening masses attending his rallies, but failed its ambitious plan to rule Bengal unseating Didi.

Modi’s O! Didi teasing calls were condemned by Didi as if it was denigrating remarks by the sitting Prime Minister against the Bengali Women’s pride and dignity – she being represented as Bengal’s Daughter. She had also questioned the BJP’s calling her as ‘Bengal Begum’ as the most condemnable communal comment thereby pitching Muslims against Hindus.

But Didi had conveniently forgotten her own foul mouth utterances on many election rallies much worst and direct attacks on Modi, Amit Shaw, Election Commission, Central Reserve Police. But these remarks of Didi had not dented her winning spree in the recently held Bengal Assembly Election.

Didi’s party’s position as on last assembly election of 2016 which was 211 seats had now improved its seats to 213 – an increase of 2 seats with a vote share of 47.9% - swing of 3% defeating BJP who could win only 77 seats – but an impressive  increase of 74 seats with a vote share of 38.1% - swing of 28%.  Both Congress and Communists who had won 44 and 26 seats respectively in 2016 got Big Duck each in the current assembly election of 2021 – thereby Didi and BJP had created history with Congress and Communists Mukht Bharat at West Bengal. It is a shame unto the Communists party which had ruled West Bengal for decades had lost its national party status as well due to its failure to win even a single seat in the election. Congress which aligned with TMC to defeat Communists and succeeded its mission earlier could not continue its alliance with TMC perhaps due to Political Street Smart Didi. Now Congress joined with Communists to unseat Didi in the present election, but, both parties had failed miserably and completely giving their space to their rival political party – viz. BJP – much to their predicaments. It is really sad political suicidal stands for both Congress and Communists Parties, when, conveniently forgetting their waterloo status in the present assembly election even to win a single seat by both, had said in unison “We had defeated the BJP in the election battle and the BJP’s dream of capturing Bengal Assembly.”

In spite of Didi’s TMC’s victory of more than 2/3 of 292 seats (which is 196 seats but won 213 seats)  (Total 294 seats- for 2 seats election to be held), Didi could not win her seat in Nandigram where she lost to Suvendu Adhikari by a narrow margin of 1956 votes. This was a great blow to Didi, however much she tried to play down her defeat and her public image was dented to a great extent – though n media was dare enough to comment on this adversely.

Didi said: “My defeat is no issue, as my party swooped the poll registering more than 2/3 majority. This is a victory for the people of Bengal. I am proud to say that Bengal saved the country. The Election Commission behaved badly with us — they behaved like BJP’s spokesperson. BJP played dirty politics and lost the election.”

Her further remarks as below were of real concern for all people who value democratic values, decencies and decorum to those in power: “Covid is my first priority. We will work on this immediately. We will not do a big oath-taking ceremony. We will weather this storm. We will distribute free vaccines to everyone. Also request the Centre to distribute free vaccines to all.

If this does not happen, I will sit on a dharna in front of the Gandhi Murti in Kolkata.

We appeal to everyone not to do a victory rally now. We will do a big victory rally at the Brigade Parade Ground later after the situation is normal.”

Further Didi had called on all opposition parties which include Congress and Communists – to fight jointly in the forthcoming Lok Sabha Election in 2024 to defeat Modi and Didi had indicated that a grand rally of all opposition parties will be held in Kolkata after Pandemic situation becomes normal.

We are just wondering ‘why was Didi not speaking her responsibility as CM to bring peace, development and end of cut money culture (which she herself admitted as prevalent in her party cadres) and enforcement of law and order?’

While there is nothing wrong in her ambition to become PM – 3 more years to go to achieve her goal, she should now do justice to the voters of Bengal to ensure a fair and good governance and administration as otherwise her track record as CM may even harm her PM Dream.

There were many gruesome murders of BJP workers of around 100+ during her rule pre-election period which had continued even at the Post Election with more than 12 BJP workers being brutally murdered and some hanged from trees after murders – not to speak of rapes and brutal assaults on BJP women supporters and some of their houses being torched by TMC goons.

The picture above is of BJP Booth Agent, Arup Ruidas, Indus Assembly of West Bengal who was hanged till death by TMC workers during post poll violence.

The post-poll violence in West Bengal has shaken the consciousness of the entire nation. In a shocking revelation, it was not just the workers of the opposition party who were under attack, but even the BSF jawans were facing the heat of the violence. A BSF Jawan Kamal Sen, on leave, was assaulted along with his family members, his house, tractor and bike were set on fire. The injured Kamal Sen had to be treated at a hospital in Silig.  Another BSF Jawan named Sushant Burman was also attacked and his house was looted simply because his brother was a BJP supporter and this had resulted in his family members to flee home to save their life.

It is relevant to recall Mamata’s demonizing statement about the Central paramilitary forces urging her party supporters even her female party cadres to ‘gherao’ them during elections.

In this context,  let us recall the shooting incident happened outside booth in Cooch Behar by CISF personnel resulting in the death of four persons and it was said that they had opened fire in self defense after coming under attack from locals outside a polling booth in West Bengal's Cooch Behar district on April 2021.

Reacting to the incident, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee said "worst fears have come true". But, a video was surfaced wherein a women voice was advising the local TMC leaders to parade the dead bodies through the streets before last rites and it was alleged that the voice was none other than TMC Leader. Truth will emerge in due course and if found true, then it will be a great black mark for the party proving that it will go to any extent to win the elections throwing Moral Code to Dust Bin.

Such unprecedented violence by TMC goons on BJP supporters resulted in tragic exodus of people to neighboring State of Assam ruled by the BJP. Burning of BJP workers houses, hurling of bombs, attacking their houses with sticks and swords were witnessed in many parts of West Bengal. Even Central Minister  Muraleedharan’s convoy was attacked on his mission to visit the houses of affected in the violence, but he was forced to retreat from the trouble spot and his driver was seriously injured resulting in his hospitalization.

Murders and Lynching of BJP workers and even few of Congress/Communists workers by TMC goons were reported from many parts of West Bengal even after Didi won West Bengal Elections with thumbing majority.

Sitaram Yechury – CPIM had aired his views on post election violence in Bengal by TMC Goons that ‘Didi was celebrating Her Victory with Violence’, but Congress was maintaining a Graveyard Silence in spite of wide spread violence leading to number of Bengalis seeking asylum in neighboring Assam State.

Even Governor of Bengal could not get the details from Didi Government to report to the Central Government and Central Government’s   request for a detailed report about the post poll violence was not responded by Didi Government which had forced Central Government to form a four member team to know the ground realities and to take remedial measures.

In view of the gravity of the violent incidents and non-cooperative and opposing moods of TMC Government, Centre was forced to give Central Police protections to all 77 members of BJP MLAs with immediate effect. The Central Team Report may reveal the true picture of violence perpetrated by TMC goons.

Didi’s half hearted appeal to her cadre to stop violence could not evoke much positive response which goes to prove that Didi may lose her control over some elected MLAs from Muslim dominated areas. Further it was a strange logic of escapism, when she declared that what happened in post polls, she was not to be held accountable – as She was not sworn as CM then.  One more damning revelation is that as many as 21 TMC Contesting Candidates may be Rohingya Refugees – not eligible to contest but permitted by Didi Party and that this may prove to be Her Great Failure and Fall in due course of time having a Waterloo Effect even losing her CM post along with shattering her dream of becoming a PM in 2024.

Let me conclude my editorial with the quotes from The Hindu Editorial cautioning Didi thus: “This colossal mandate should not be taken as a public endorsement or even tolerance of the grass-roots ferocity and authoritarianism that have become hall marks of her party. Didi’s personal responsibility is high considering that people reposed their trust in her despite the high handedness of local TMC leaders. The burden on her is heavy, and she has a tough act to do in reining in her own party.”

E-Touch has no other way except to accept the verdict of voters of West Bengal – however much we feel sad and let down by their voting in electing a leader like Didi – whether Game Gone or Game On which only time will tell.

Hence E-Touch presents a bouquet on her great achievement of winning this election to occupy in the CM’s Chair consecutively for the third term in succession.

For Post Poll Violence of Unprecedented Magnitude indulged by Didi’s Party in spite of her victory,  E-Touch, with a heavy heart, honour Didi with the Crown of Thorn as well.

Didi as CM should be Constitution Smart instead of Street Smart. Combat Mode for the Administrator will lead to chaos which will only harm the people of Bengal and hamper its peace and progress.

Let Her Durga and Hanuman be Her Guiding Light to rule West Bengal well to the extent to prove    E-Touch was wrong in crowning Mamata with Crown of Thorn.

JAI DURGA!  JAI HANUMAN!

As far as the BJP was concerned, it was portrayed as a Great Himalayan Defeat inflicted to the BJP by Didi and this was in the context of the BJP’s Challenging Campaign to capture Bengal Assembly by unseating Didi in her bastion having a thumbing majority of 211 seats by winning 200 + seats single handedly by increasing its present 3 MLA seats in the previous Assembly. In this background only Liberals and Luytyens were jubilantly portraying Didi’s third term – securing 214 seats proving her un-diminishing popularity and power and full control over TMC party and strangely in particular with no anti incumbency for her decade long Rule. But they had grossly missed the spectacular victory of BJP – an increase of 71 MLAs from a mere 3 MLAs which works out to around 2400 % !

Since Didi’s winning number of seats remaining almost same, these Liberals and Lytyens were patting Didi by assuming that BJP had only snatched the seats of Congress – 44 and Communists – 26 totaling 70 seats – though Arithmetically fit into their assumptions but there are more in finer and micro details to worry Didi in the coming elections.

One Great News of Didi’s Defeat in Nandigram – though with a meager margin of only 1956 votes - cannot be brushed aside lightly and it might be interpreted as her failure of Decade Long Rule as a CM – Party Gained, Party Supremo Lost.

Entire credit should go to Suvendu Adhikari (50) one time supporter and TMC Leader who was responsible to bring Fame for Nandigram Agitation against Lefts but supported by  Congress then to Mamata Bannerjee (66). We hope that Didi’s Defeat should not become  like Rahul’s Defeat in Amethi forcing him to confine himself to a Muslim Dominated Constituency in Wayanad, Kerala.

E-Touch honours Suvendu Adhikari – now elected as Leader of the Opposition Party – with a bouquet and a crown for his historical victory by defeating Didi – Formidable, Ferocious and Fearless Tall Leader of TMC.
