Congress Rainbow alliance for the assembly elections – including parties like the AIUDF – headed by Ajmal – Muslim Perfume baron, the left and the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) – thought that they could unseat NDA – but failed. Even the controversial citizenship laws (CAA – Citizenship (Amendment) Act or NRC – National Register of Citizens) could not stop BJP+ forming the government defeating the anti-incumbency factor which had baffled Congress and its allies.
Assam’s fears of Bangladeshi Muslims capturing political power through Congress – Muslim Perfume Party had helped BJP to retain its hold on Assam Electorates.
Victory of BJP indicates that people have reposed faith in BJP – a national party – to stop illegal migration, over the BJP+ parties representing Assamese identity.
Congress contested in 95 seats and won only 29 seats of which majority of candidates are Muslims ! Congress by this had become another Minority party in Assam.
Support of Assam’s Ethnic Tribal minorities to NDA was the major factor in its victory.
Present Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal who succeeded in bringing victory to BJP for the second term had agreed to give up his claim of chief ministership to Himanta Biswa Sarma paving the way for smooth transition of power.
Both had played their roles well and are equally friendly and co-operative which will go a long way for the development of Assam with the all out support from the centre which has a special schemes of development for North East Regions.
E-Touch appeals to them to give a good governance and to establish a peaceful atmosphere – Assam being a border state having Bangladesh as its neighboring country.

For BJP, its performance in Assam and Puducherry was spectacular helping it to form its Government with absolute majority.
Its West Bengal Performance where it had improved its seats from a mere 3 to 77 seats without any alliance was unique and historic. In spite of many violent incidents instigated by TMC goons on BJP workers and blocking BJP rallies in many places, BJP’s success was remarkable. Didi’s defeat in Nandigram constituency was a major victory for BJP – this would be a damning effect on her dream of becoming PM in 2024 .
In Tamilnadu, BJP had won 4 seats much to the surprise of Dravidian parties who were confident that Lotus could never bloom in Dravidian Soil.
Only complete rout was in Kerala where BJP drew blank – though its vote share improved a lot.
For these achievements, credits should go to J.P. Jadda, BJP National President, Amit Shaw and Modi and E-Touch honor them all with a bouquet.
