Congress Hand Bangled (Failed)

Yes, Congress Hand ‘Bangled’ (Failed)!Congress could win just 52 seats – only 4 seats more than its win in 2014. And Congress had got Zero in 18 States. Congress 9 Ex-Chief Ministers were defeated.  But, Congress had faired extremely well in Kerala 15 out of 20, in Punjab 8 out of 13, in Tamil Nadu 8 out of 38 (Courtesy DMK who won 23 plus other  alliance partners 6 leaving 1 seat to ADMK). 

The worst part was that Rahul was defeated by BJP Smriti Irani in Amethi with a difference of more than 55,000 – crushing and humiliating defeat. As Rahul had chosen a second seat in Wayanad in Kerala where he won by a whopping margin of over 4.3 lacs, it had saved the party the embarrassment of its own chief failing to win a Lak Sabha seat.

Priyanka could not get votes for Congress, as Congress won only one seat – her mother’s seat from UP where She was given charge to campaign. Her campaign  was an utter failure and it would be very difficult for Congress in future to rely on her charisma. She had also failed to attract crowds and was forced to take a Boat Show instead of Road Show. If the move of Congress  to ask her to file her nomination to challenge Modi in Varnasi had materialised, then her career itself might have been doomed!

Priyanka’s remarks – Congress in UP had put up its candidates only to split the votes of BJP to SP/BSP with a view to defeat Saffron from winning – were not appreciated by local congress leaders.

Rahul  addressing newly elected 52 members of Parliament (including Rahul) said: We will fight BJP every inch of the way like pride brave-hearted lions without ceding an inch. To take on BJP, 40 MPs are enough this time but we have 52. You are going to enjoy yourself, you are going to shout little more than usual. You are going to be little more aggressive to make BJP to jump every day. 

His Bravado had got a heavy hit, as it was noticed two notable absence of MPs – out of 52 – viz. West Bengal Congress Heavy Weight Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and MP Chief Minister’s son Nakul Nath as per paper report – to be confirmed by other sources.

Rahul had already directly instigated his MPs to create pandemonium in Lok Sabha. As Parliament is for discussion and debate and not for dharna and agitation and shouting. Bail Rahul is all set himself to fail even as an MP even without caring that it may end up in losing his chance of becoming Prime Minister.

Rahul perhaps wants to follow the footsteps of Dharna CMs like Kejriwal, Mamta, Chandrababu Naidu etc.

By this lok sabha election, all alliances had failed miserably and hence hereafter every party will fight the future elections on their own.

Rahul himself will hasten Congress Mukt  along with some more alliance parties in the near future. Congress may become untouchable party for alliance hereafter. Rahul had already laid a strong foundation by his action, inaction and utterances towards that status.
