Shield of Whip and Crown of Thorn to U-Turn Shekhar Gupta

Shekhar Gupta is the editor-in-chief of The Print (started in August 2017) which I rank it as a political yellow journal like his likeminded Liberal Lutyens Co-Jourlalists such as The Wire (started in 2015), Scroll.In (started in 2014), Caravan etc. 

Shekhar Gupta is a regular contributor for Business Standard (what standard this magazine can boast of by publishing articles from journalists like U-Turn Gupta), India Today, Indian Express and in particular NDTV.

Alas, Gupta is also the chief of Editor’s Guild – courtesy Congress Party apart from getting another courtesy of the Padma Bhushan in 2009 for his contribution to journalism!

I like to draw the readers’ attention to the fact that the Print, Wire and Scroll were all started starting from 2014 to 2017 which itself may be enough to prove that their evil designs are not to safeguard freedom of press or free and fair election but to stop with full forces – fair or foul – Modi from getting elected as PM in 2014 and having failed in their attempts, they had with added forces with  vigour moved heaven and earth to stop Modi to get a second Term as PM or atleast to ensure a Hung Parliament! Nothing happened as wished by these elite guys.

If I call them as unworthy Indian Citizens, there are a few people to scold me as Fundamentalist, Hindutva, Muslim Hater, Modi Bhakt etc. But Gupta’s U-Turn may come to my rescue to a great extent.

I never expected that Shekhar Gupta would make a complete U-Turn about his assessment of Modi’s Performances and said point blank – Yes, We blacked out Modi’s good performances from the public.

This is something like Devil quoting Scripture because of Shekhar Gupta’s past views, articles, physical political maneuvers – with Kejriwal, Mayavathi, Akhilesh, Rahul and many more politicians to defeat Modi from getting elected from 2014 till2019 Lok Sabha Election – visuals are available in plenty. But here let me confine to his horrible Himalayan U-Turn.

Is Shekhar Gupta honest in admitting his prejudiced reporting which was against the principles of journalism? I very much doubt. Why? His admissions were aired only on the 31st May 2019 i.e. after Modi got 303 Lok Sabha Seats.

If Gupta had admitted the block out news about Modi’s good performances from the viewers/readers at least before the results were announced, one could  give some credit but having failed to admit then but now, he loses our respects or credits. Gupta might have been enjoying under the wave length of Time’s ‘India’s Divider in Chief’ article but Time’s U-Turn subsequently  might have influenced Gupta – to admit his mistakes sooner than later to have some credibility.

Shkehar Gupta’s admissions:  “Journalists chose to ignore the positive effects of Modi government’s welfare schemes.

I have to say this very honestly that we journalists at the commentariat chose not to see it. Even when we see it we compulsively try to deny it.

We peddled such lies by deliberately ignoring the benefits that people had obtained from various schemes of the government.

While looking for the evidence against the schemes of the Modi government, I did not find any evidence. We were finding gas cylinders. We would even peek inside a house and find a gas cylinder.

The fact is that these people had never seen the delivery of anything. And even if they got any delivery they had not seen the delivery of anything without having to pay bribes for it including in most cases NAREGA wages. It’s a big change. It’s a big governance exercise. You may like it you may not like it but smart people are learning from it.”

E-Touch had decided to ‘honour’ with Twin Honours – Crown of Thorn for his Print Yellow Web Magazine  and Shield of Whip to Master Sekhar Gupta U-Turn. Our only request to Gupta is to keep these two trophies prominently displayed in his offices of Print and the Editor’s Guild.

In this Kali Yuga, God had also become restless and inflict punishments post haste.
