Hilarious Jai Ho! Election Commission!

All Political Parties – Congress + (UPA), mahagathbandhan parties , Federal Fronts – had created unprecedented hurdles to the Election Commission in performing their constitutional duties of conducting this massive task of election in a country like India – where the forces of religions, castes, federal interests were active in full force to stop among other things - to stop the saffron surge under Modi’s aggressive campaigns in all means – fair or foul and in that process they accused the EC.

The main players  who had created various forms of hurdles by way of petitions to the EC, cases in SC for 100% verification of VVPATs with EVMs, Reverting Back to Paper Ballots System, Dharnas in front of Election Commission of India Office at New Delhi in the midst of elections’ processes being already underway were Rahul of Congress, Mamata of Trinamool Congress, Chandra Babu Naidu of Telugu Desam Party, Aklilesh/Mayavathi of Mahagathbandhan Party – not to speak about Kejriwal, Sarad Pawar, Deva Gowda ect.  While Congress rediculed EC as “EC is Commission for Omission” (thereby accusing EC was  soft on Modi in Model Code of Conduct), Mamata  said “Modi Decides, EC Acts”. Of the leaders, actions of Mamata and Naidu were deplorable in creating hurdles to EC.

Open differences between Election Commissioner Lavasa and Chief Election Commissioner SunilArora in respect of implementation and enforcement of Election Code of Conduct were about to create further hurdles, but, CEC Sunil Arora and Commissioner Sushil Chandra who had agreed themselves in deciding about violations of code of conduct had their say being majority decision – but still Lavasa wanted his dissent to be revealed to the public. As Lavasa’s request was against the present rules, CEC had turned down his request.

Added to this already surcharged situations,  Ranjan Gogoi, Chief Justice of Supreme Court in April 2019 was accused of sexual harassment by a former Supreme Court employee and he was literally furious and declared that  there are forces to malign most revered constitutional body to hamper the independence and to pose a danger to democracy , but, this was most worst allegations so far leveled against a sitting supreme court chief judge. 

Though a three judge internal investigation committee cleared Gogoi, but many legal luminaries opined this exoneration as ‘A one sided justice’ and as fate would have it, even Retired Justice Jasti Chelameswar had also questioned Gogoi’s exoneration.

In kali yuga, karma seems to hit back badly and fastly, as  the readers might not have forgotten the  sordid story unfolded by holding a press conference  called for by four supreme court judges headed by the same Jasti Chelameswar wherein Gogoi was also active participant to question then Chief Justice Arun Mishra his partialities  and arbitrary methods of allocation of cases – even quoting the specific case relating to Death of Judge B. H. Loya wherein BJP Chief Amit Shaw was named.

But Mishtra had simply reiterated that the allocation of cases were his priority and that being the chief justice, it wass not justifiable to question or doubting his decisions. But unfortunately, these four honorable judges  had politicized the issue and with the support of enough Rajya Sabha MPs, they had approached Rajya Sabha for impeachment of  Mishtra, but, failed. But, Mishtra had recommended Gogoi name for the Chief Justice of India much to the astonishment of Gogoi himself who is to retire by  17th November 2019.  The baggage of Karma is going to sit on Gogoi’s back for ever to torment him for life. Truths had triumphed!

Congress Legal Wing Chief Kabil Sibal had on his part  added salt to the EC’s sufferings with multiples injuries. He used his power of foreign lobbies to prove that EVMs could be hacked. But his claims were busted to the maximum embarrassment of Congress  Party.

Again Rahul Political Guide and Guru Sam Patroda “hua to hua” Fame (So what, it happened - about the anti-Sikh riot) said that “he feels there is something wrong with EVMs. and he cannot pinpoint the flaw immediately and would need to study the machine for that. If someone gives me an EVM to study for a year, then I can say something. You will have to understand the design, the software. But one thing is for sure, there is something wrong with it. We do not know what is wrong with it”.

This was something similar to Rahul’s statement when question ed to provide evidence for his oft repeated allegations of scam in Rafale, “I don’t have proof. But I am sure ‘Modi Chowkidar is Chor’”.

Renowned Technocrat Sam’s Political Motive was to tarnish the image of Modi through Election Commission. But EC had taken him to task and he was silenced.

In such hostile atmosphere for the last 6 months, the Election Commission was put to heavy pressure and even building pressures even midst of voting processes thereby making EC from functioning effectively to conduct the polls without any untoward incidents.

Even Medias and Press had dragged the EC unnecessarily thereby creating a wrong perception amongst voters that the EC lacked Trust  in performing its duties. 

At the counting, there was not even a single VVPAT-EVM tally mismatch and it had now been proved that the VVPAT issue was just an excuse without any evidence to back it. In spite of all these pulls and pressures, the Election Commission of India had done wonderful job and the voters had on their part praised them whole heartedly which was their real succor and strength in such testing times.
